The Boston Modern Quilt Guild regularly meets the 3rd Saturday of the month from 1-3 PM.  In some cases we have shifted our planned meeting dates to accommodate holidays and speaker schedules.  I am thrilled to announce that we now have a permanent home.  Starting in September 2014 all meetings will be held at the fabulous Fabric Place Basement in Natick.  We invite you to join us!

August Quilts for Boston Quilt-In
Sunday, August 10th,  1-5pm
Laurena's Longarm Quilting, 264 Cambridge Street, Burlington

The lovely Laurena is hosting a quilt-in to help us finish our remaining Quilts for Boston tops.  We have quite a stack ready to be quilted thanks to all your efforts at our May sew-in at Gather Here.  All are welcome, no experience necessary!  Please RSVP for this event to bostonmqg@gmail.com.

If you have a completed top that you don't plan to quilt yourself please contact alice@alidiza.com to make arrangements to return it by Thursday, August 7th.  We need to make sure we have backs and battings for all our quilts and we want to attach zippers to as many as possible so we can just keep loading them on the machines on Sunday.

August BMQG Meeting
Saturday, August 16th,  1-3pm
Franklin Mill Store, 305 Union Street, Franklin

Please join us for our August meeting where longarmer extroidinaire, quilter, fabric designer, author, illustrator, and all-around amazing artist Melissa Averinos will be sharing her quilting journey.  You might not recognize her (though this self-portrait is dead on!) but you're sure to recognize some of the amazing quilts she's quilted and if you're lucky you've got some of her fabric in your stash.

The meeting will be held Saturday, August 16th from 1-3 at the Franklin Mill Store. There is additional parking in the back.  As always we'll have show and tell so don't forget to bring your latest finish, WiP, or anything else you'd like to share.  We LOVE to see what you've been up to:-)  Snacks and guests are always welcome!

July BMQG Meeting
Saturday, July 19th,  1-3pm
Fabric Place Basement, Cloverleaf Center - 321 Speen Street, Natick

Join us in air-conditioned coolness for our July meeting from 1-3 on July 19th at the fabulous Fabric Place Basement in Natick.  Bring you favorite quilting gadget and share with the group why you can't quilt without it.

The deadline for the Michael Miller challenge has been extended to July 25th so bring your challenge to share along with show and tell.  As always we'll have show and tell so don't forget to bring your latest finish, WiP, or anything else you'd like to share.  We LOVE to see what you've been up to:-)  Snacks and guests are always welcome!

June Sew-in
Thursday, June 19th, 7pm
Alice's Porch, Acton

I will be hosting my annual sew-in on the porch.  The space is best suited for hand sewing but I do have a table that can accommodate a few machines.  Address is available on the MQG forum or email me at alice@alidiza.com.

May BMQG Meeting
Saturday, May 17th,  1-5pm
Gather Here, 370 Broadway, Cambridge

Join us for our final Quilts for Boston event.  The awesome folks at gather here will be hosting one last sew-in to turn the last of the blocks we received from around the world in to quilts.  We will start the meeting with our Sewing Room Swap and then devote the rest of the time to wrapping up Quilts for Boston.  We have a number of blocks left.  Some of these are "challenge" blocks that don't quite match our specifications but many are simply leftover blocks that didn't get used when people were assembling tops.  I feel we have a responsibility to use (almost) all of the blocks that were donated to us.  These quilters deserve to be part of our effort.  We will try to have everything as organized and ready to go as possible.  Sewing machines and supplies will be provided.  Come ready to sew, our goal is to finish it all!!!

April Sew-in
Wednesday, April 23rd,  5pm
Caro's House, Everett

Take a break and come sew with us in Caro's fabulous studio. She has room for machines or bring your latest (eternal?) handwork.  Address is available on the MQG forum or email me at alice@alidiza.com.

April BMQG Meeting
Saturday, April 12th,  1-3pm
Fabric Place Basement, Cloverleaf Center - 321 Speen Street, Natick

Get ready for the ruler-rama!!!  At our April meeting several awesome BostonMQG members will be demonstrating how to use some of the latest specialty rulers and giving you the low down on whether they're really worth the price tag.

Don't forget to bring your latest finish, WiP or anything else you'd like to share.  We LOVE to see what you've been up to:-)  Also, please bring your finished Quilts for Boston quilts.  We are wrapping up this project and can't wait to send all of these fabulous quilts delivered to their new homes!

 Snacks and guests are welcome.

February Sew-in
Thursday, February 27th,  7pm
Alice's House, Acton

I've been rather remiss in scheduling Sew-ins.  It's been way too long so I'll kick things off again by hosting a get together at my home in Acton.  We can use the basement so sewing machines are welcome.  Address is available on the MQG forum or email me at alice@alidiza.com if you need the address.

February BMQG Meeting
Friday, February 7th,  7-9pm
Gather Here, 370 Broadway, Cambridge

For our February meeting please join us as we celebrate the release of fabulous founding member Rachel May's new book Quilting With A Modern Slant.  Rachel's book profiles more than 80 quilters, many of them members of the BMQG.  While the book shares their tips, tutorials, and techniques to inspire your creativity much of the focus is on the quilting community so this is a great chance to revel in our community.

There will be snacks, giveaways, and shopping.  Guests are welcome.  Please also bring your Riley Blake Challenge quilts to share.

January BMQG Meeting
Saturday, January 25th,  1-3pm
LDS Church, 70 Concord Road, Billerica

The incredible Erin Daley of Daley by the Yard will be entertaining us with "How to Keep Your Machine OUT of the Shop!"

Of course there's also the always inspiring Show and Tell so bring those fabulous finishes and WiPs to share.  Snacks are welcome.

After the meeting will will have additional free sewing time so feel free to bring your machine and latest project.  For those of you who haven't been to this location, they have a wonderful floor for basting so you are welcome to bring along those large quilts and take advantage of the space (and possibly volunteer labor:-).
