Challenges and Swaps

BMQG members have opportunities to participate in 2-3 quilt challenges each year.   Challenges are a great way to try out new techniques and fabrics, and to stretch creatively.

Improv Mini Quilt Challenge - Due in April, for our annual quilt show
Make a mini quilt that is no more than 36" x 36" in size. Your quilt should be pieced in an improv manor. For those that tend to stick to patterns, consider this a fun challenge outside of your norm. You may use any sort of colors

Swap - Theme TBD - Due in October
We'll do a swap between members in October based on a theme that the members vote on. Previous swaps include pillow swaps, kitchen item swap, sewing room item swaps and pincushion swaps.

MQG Challenges
The MQG is hosting a Riley Blake Challenge in the first half of 2017. Details can be found here:

The MQG traditionally hosts a Michael Miller Challenge for QuiltCon in the second half of the year. Keep your eye out for announcements from the MQG.
