LQF Mini Quilt Challenge - The Winning Color Palette & Guidelines

Drumroll please...

The winning color palette for this year's LQF Mini Quilt Challenge is...

RED NAILS!

Okay, so now that we have established the inspiration for the mini quilt challenge, let's go over the guidelines (don't worry, there aren't many).

1. Your mini quilt can be no larger than 24" x 24"
2. You must use at least three of the colors in the inspiration mosaic in your mini
3. You may add white to your mini
4. Your fabrics can be prints or solids

For some inspiration, I pulled a few fabrics from my stash last night in this color palette.

For your reference, here are the Bella and Kona colors that are closest to this color palette.

Bella:
Mist
Barn Door
Zen Grey
Graphite
Washed Black

Kona:
Aqua or Baby Blue
Wine
Iron
Steel
Charcoal

Have fun with this challenge!

Questions? Feel free to reach out to myself (Jen) or Trish.

    1. The challenge is for Boston Modern Quilt Guild members, as the quilts will be displayed at the BMQG exhibit at the Lowell Quilt Festival. If you're feeling inspired by this challenge and want to make something for yourself, go for it! I think we're always looking for things to inspire us as quilters.

  2. Just bought the perfect fabric last week not even thinking of this challenge. My friend said why are you buying that, it is so not you! Glad I did, now to think of what to do with it!

    1. The quilts will be due with the rest of the quilts for the festival. I don't believe the date has been determined yet, but once it has, we'll be sure to share that with everyone.

  5. Good idea Hema because that looks like a light blue to me, not aqua.
