Angela Walters Trunk Show

The BMQG was absolutely delighted to have a trunk show by the multi-talented Angela Walters of Quilting is my Therapy for our September meeting!

Angela shared some of her tips as the "quilt whisperer" for how she lets the quilt tell her how it should be quilted.  Her approach to quilting modern quilts features dense quilting, using multiple patterns, and changes in scale to add interest to negative space.

She brought many of the quilts she made herself for her book Free-Motion Quilting and a few sneak peeks that will be in her next book, In the Studio.  Sorry Angela, you're probably going to need to wash these after we drooled all over them:-)  We were all inspired seeing her quilts in person!

Several members also attended classes with Angela.  It's not nearly as easy as she makes it look but it's fun practicing as Angela cheers you on:-)

The day wouldn't have been complete without a a few fabric purchases, especially after so much inspiration.   A huge thanks to the gang at Quilter's Way for making this all possible!!!
